About this property

Welcome to Gedney Farm

Set on 37 picturesque acres in rural New Marlborough, Gedney Farm offers a distinctive stay within a converted timbered barn. The inn features elegant rooms and suites characterized by spacious layouts, high ceilings, and cozy touches like fireplaces and oversized jacuzzi tubs. Guests can appreciate the blend of rustic charm and modern comfort, with many noting the authentic New England farm atmosphere and peaceful setting enhanced by walking paths throughout the grounds.

The property also serves as a restaurant and event venue, hosting weddings and special occasions in beautifully repurposed barn spaces. Dining at Gedney Kitchen is highlighted for its high-quality, farm-sourced menu with seasonal Italian influences, though breakfast options are reported as limited and may not cater extensively to dietary restrictions. The attentive and personal service reported by visitors adds to the overall experience.

Conveniently located about six miles from Campbell Falls State Park Reserve and within driving distance of ski areas like Ski Butternut and Otis Ridge, the inn is suited to guests seeking a quiet retreat with access to outdoor activities. The absence of a pool, airport shuttle, and fitness center emphasizes its focus on relaxation and natural surroundings rather than traditional hotel amenities. One of the most beautiful pieces of land in the Berkshires is also a lovely restaurant with a top-notch chef, warm and very personal service, and a feeling of a true getaway. We've enjoyed Gedney Kitchen in all seasons, although it really shines in late summer with outdoor dining on the lawn. The food is unfussy and consistently well-prepared, and the staff is attentive and caring.

Updated after our third stay: Gedney Farm gets better every time we return. This time, we stayed on the 2nd floor in a beautiful suite with an oversized jacuzzi tub in the bathroom and a fireplace in the sitting area. The big windows and high ceilings bring dramatic beauty to the cozy space. There is a lovely little indoor terrace just outside the suite, which is an adorable spot to sip your coffee in the morning. We are counting the days until we can return again! First Review: We love staying at Gedney Farm. We've stayed there twice and look forward to returning again. The rooms are spacious yet cozy with modern bathrooms. Our most recent room - The Loft Suite - was heated by a fireplace which was a surprisingly charming feature to enjoy. Both rooms we stayed in felt very private. The only downside is that the breakfast is limited and does not accommodate dietary restrictions like gluten-free unless you just want a plate of fruit in the morning. But that won't stop us from returning to this warm, cozy, romantic spot.

Beautiful farm and hills with event spaces. Walking paths provide connection across the grounds while providing privacy from the main spaces. The event space is a repurposed barn that creates memorable spaces with its adaptive reuse. Cozy spaces around the fire place juxtaposed the vaulted main dinning and dancing area, providing prospect and refuge. Another barn is converted to a small hotel with unique common spaces. Rooms range from the expected colonial proportions to those more akin to a tree house. Fun space to support the main event attendees.

I have worked with the staff at Gedney Farm for years for different events. But this weekend we hosted my son’s wedding at Gedney. And it could not have been more magical. The staff worked tirelessly to help us create a dream wedding. The setting is spectacular. The food was delicious. The staff were wonderful. It was exactly the wedding that we spent two years waiting for. Thank you Mike, Peter, Samantha and Eileen.

What an amazing place. The location is serene with walking paths. The rooms are in an old barn which is beautiful. My room had a working real wood fireplace and all I had to do was light a match. The bathroom was huge and clean. The bed was super comfortable. We dined in the restaurant. Fall/Winter is an Italian menu. Really delicious. The staff is absolutely wonderful and helpful Highly recommend staying

When I say "Five Stars" don't get me wrong; don't look for a butler, Euro-spa (though the bathroom amenities are actually right up there), doorman, etc. HOWEVER do look for a classic New England farm experience built for comfort, a genuine change of pace, gourmet, farm-sourced meals, and if you leave your window open at night, the most intense silence and deep darkness that takes the eyes an eternity to accept. This place is perfect! It is authentic, clean, friendly, fun, and real. Not the Disney version of a farm...

This is our most special, special-occasion, spot! The closest thing you could come to a French provincial dining experience here in the Berkshires. As an aside the greatest fried clams I’ve ever ever had in my entire life.

Gorgeous location in the Berkshires. The moment you arrive, you quickly realize you've entered a world of latched doors, random-width floorboards, and stone fireplaces. It's a wonderful feeling, immediately relaxing. The rooms are located in a lovely guest house. The furnishings are authentic and the bedding is high quality. Our room even had a working fireplace. We attended a memorial service hosted in the large converted barn and it was magical. The barn is absolutely beautiful, the lighting is perfect, everybody was talking about how much it added to the atmosphere. This would be a perfect setting for a wedding reception, the photos would be magnificent. The property also has a restaurant which we weren't able to try. But the food they served during the reception was terrific. Very high quality ingredients and superbly prepared. If I were looking for a restaurant in the Berkshires, Gedney Kitchen would be high on my list. Finally, the staff was outstanding. They handled everything with absolute professionalism. Reception was warm inviting. The servers were friendly and attentive. Nothing was overlooked. This is a very well-run establishment. Highly recommended!
